Rising Hip-Hop artist G Perico releases All Blue

On Friday, G Perico released All Blue, his third album in two years.  After Tha Innerprize Two (his first mixtape in 2015) and Shit Don’t Stop (last year), G Perico had already proven himself to be a contender with some of the West Coast greats.  His throwback gangsta rap and smooth persona have created die-hard fans that have shown him mad love since day one. But that’s not all…

The haters are still out there.  People that hate you because of your success or even because of where you’re from.  G Perico was born in South Central L.A. and became a member of the 112 Broadway Gangster Crips at age 12.  His loyalty to them is noted in the title of his latest project, All Blue. A little over a year ago, G Perico was leaving his South Broadway studio near his neighborhood, when someone targeted him and opened fire. With a fresh bullet wound in his hip, G went to the local hospital.  After waiting for over an hour, he insisted that medical treatment wasn’t necessary.  “Clean me up, I’m leaving”, he told hospital staff.  After all, he had a show to play at The Roxy that night and he was not going to miss it.  And he didn’t.  He played the show with blood dripping down his leg the whole set. Read more

But, he’s not just a rapper, he’s an entrepreneur.  He has his own T-shirts that are sold from his So Way Out store on South Broadway in L.A.  The 29 year old really is doing everything he can to better his life, to make a way for himself.  This includes trying to stay out of the streets.  In fact his goal is “to motivate people with his stories and encourage those like him to start a business, go to college or get a regular job.”  G Perico is truly a gangster trying to spead positivity.  Still on the rise, if dropping three great albums in two years is any indication of what’s to come from this promising artist, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
